My experience and some tests of the new Yongnuo YN-622 TX wireless radio flash trigger system.
I purchased an Olympus OMD E-M1 mirrorless Micro 4/3 system camera and lenses a couple of months ago to use on an upcoming trip, as a light-weight alternative to my full frame Nikon gear. In the process of checking out the capabilities of the E-M1 I ran a series of tests comparing it to the Nikon D800. While this may be a rather lop-sided comparison, the E-M1 held up very well and has become a favorite of mine. The results of the testing (not rigorous, but tailored to my needs) is at http://afpphoto.com/writings/tests-2/olympus-e-m1/ .

Madison is a quaint old river town on the Ohio River, with lots of historic homes and buildings. Nearby is Clifty Falls, a very nice wooded park with deep gorges, rugged trails and, of course, water falls. This gallery contains just a sample of the photographic possibilities of the area.
A new photo gallery, Natural Bridge Photos, and Proshow video slide show, Natural Bridge Videos , have been added. This was a fall color trip in early Oct. 2012 to the Kentucky Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge area. The colors were outstanding and the weather could not have been better! – Al Peter

On Tuesday June 5th a very rare event occurred – the transit of Venus across the Sun. The next one will be in 105 years! I was was able to capture the beginning of the transit before the clouds rolled in. The setup was a 130mm f/8 astronomical refractor on an equatorial mount, focal length 1,040mm with a D800 as the imager. Exposure was 1/400 sec at f/8, ISO 100. A Baader solar film filter was used to reduce the bright sunlight to safe levels. Note the sunspots and clouds covering some of the images. There was a thin haze over all of the images, reducing the claity. (Click on thumbnail for larger image.)
