Adobe DNG is a non camera-specific RAW file format that can be used by many applications. A new version has been recently released that includes a lossy compression option, which appears to give superior results to JPEG. This presentation explores the use of DNG for archiving images that may not need to be kept as RAW files, but in a compressed form that still allows certain attributes such as white balance to be modified. Examples and comparisons are shown in the presentation. (Click on the image to open).
